Hosted session(s)
Learn how to both prevent and resolve performance issues in Business Central.
Drawing on findings from Microsoft's OptimAL initiative and recent investments in telemetry, diagnostics, and profiling tools, this session combines performance optimization best practices with hands-on troubleshooting techniques. We will review common bottlenecks discovered in AppSource extensions, discuss proven optimization patterns, and demonstrate how to use telemetry, performance profiling, and built-in diagnostics to isolate performance problems and identify their root causes.
As a novel thing at any conference, we will also go behind the scenes and show how Microsoft engineers analyze performance issues when they are escalated to us.
Business Central ships a standards-compliant Model Context Protocol (MCP) server that lets any MCP client -- Copilot Studio, VS Code, or third-party AI agents -- interact with Business Central data and processes through a unified tool interface. This session covers how to configure and extend the MCP server for your own extensions, connect from different MCP clients, and leverage semantic search and data analysis capabilities through MCP tools.
Business Central now exposes embedding-based semantic search as a first-class AL capability - no exact keyword matching needed. This session covers use cases, how to integrate semantic search into your own AL extensions, performance characteristics, and best practices for choosing between full-text and embedding-based search.
Business Central 2026 release wave 1 introduces a new Index Management experience that puts visibility and control of database indexes directly in the hands of administrators and developers. In this session, you’ll learn how to use these capabilities to diagnose performance issues, optimize queries, and improve scalability in real-world environments. We’ll also share insights into upcoming changes to indexing in Business Central and what they mean for your solutions.
