Registration Process & Payment

The conference fee is 685 EUR (excl. 21% VAT) if you register on or before 12 March 2024. From 13 March until 12 May, the fee is 795 EUR (excl. 21% VAT). From 13 May, the fee is 985 EUR (excl. 21% VAT). These prices are for the 2 days (there won’t be offered any one day tickets). Immediate payment is required for confirmation of your booking.
The price for a pre-conference workshop is 585 EUR (excl. 21% VAT) per day. If you attend a workshop which spans two days, you pay twice the amount of 585 EUR.
Access to the walking dinner on Thursday evening is included in the full conference fee. Separate tickets can be purchased if you only want to attend the dinner for 75 EUR (excl. 21% VAT).
In accordance with article 21, §3, 3° of the Belgian VAT Law and Circular 2021/C/19, local VAT of 21% needs to be added on every invoice, regardless of the country of origin of the registrant.
We will only accept registration payments via Stripe (credit card payments) or by bank transfer.
Conference registration will not be confirmed by an invoice until the correct payment is received and processed.
If payment is not made at the time of booking and is not received within the 2 weeks period following the registration date, registration can be cancelled without prior notice.
The conference entrance ticket will be sent by e-mail approx. 2 weeks before the start of the conference.
We cannot be responsible for your spam filters blocking your confirmation email. Please be sure your spam filters will allow mail from registration AT bctechdays.com.
Accommodation and travel costs are not included in the conference registration fee. Attendees are responsible for making their own arrangements.
You accept all the terms and conditions of BC TechDays by registering.
Registered attendees must be present at the event to receive their conference materials.

Refunds

For any cancellation occurring on or before 15 April 2024, the full registration fee will be refunded minus a 40 EUR administration fee.
No refunds will be issued on any cancellations after 15 April 2024.
The registrant is responsible for cancelling hotel and travel reservations.
No refund can be obtained in case the event should be cancelled for reasons beyond the control of the organizer and which constitute a case of force majeure as there are, without limitation, natural disasters, strikes, terrorist threats, prohibition to hold the event imposed by a government, drop out of speakers, or for any reason whatsoever.

Substitutions

Registrants may transfer their registration to a colleague at any time with no additional cost, until 10 June 2024.
To request a substitution, you must contact the conference organizer by mail, or using the contact page on this website, at the earliest opportunity. Original registrants should not cancel their registration prior to contacting us.
The registrant is responsible for changing hotel and travel reservations.

Personal Information

When registering, we collect your name, company name, e-mail, job title, country, VAT number (if applicable), phone number. We need the mandatory information to issue you with an invoice.
Participant contact details will not be sold to any third parties. Credit card information will not be stored in our database.
Participant details can be accessed by our selected partners DDMC (event organizing partner) and Tixit (registrations partner).
By registering for BC TechDays you give mibuso.com permission to contact you regarding your attendance at the event.
On the conference website, an Attendee List will be published. This is a list of all participants with their name, company, job title and country. During registration, you can select to hide your registration details on this list.
In the conference app, a list of all participants is available with their profile. During registration, you can select to not show your details in the app.
The e-mail address used when registering, will be used to send a mail with a link to download your entrance ticket. This mail will be send approx. 2 weeks before the start of the event.
The e-mail addresses can also be used to circulate last minute details and announcements regarding this event.
If you have supplied your mobile phone number during registration, we’ll also send you a SMS text message containing the link to download your conference ticket.
The mobile phone number will not be used for other communications other than last minute details regarding the conference. We will not call you. We will not send you commercial messages.
Platinum sponsors can send blind mailings to all participants of the conference. It’s mibuso.com that sends out these mails. E-mail addresses are not shared with sponsors.
Registration badges will be used during the event. For identification purposes and admission to session halls, participants are requested to wear their badges at all times.
At the event, all booths are equipped with a badge reader to collect visitor information. Booth owners will receive a list of scanned participants after the event. The data that is being shared are: first name, name, company, country, e-mail.

What if you could build your own copilot to help your customers, co-workers or community to quickly find relevant information and perform actions on your behalf? You can! And I can show you how. Ever searched YouTube for "Power Automate flows"? There are 100s of videos, maybe more! Try searching for "Power Automate flows for Business Central" and you'll find about a dozen. And most of them focus on the simple demo examples of Workflow approval or create flows using out-of-the-box BC API pages.

Great for some demo magic, but it doesn't get you very far when you need to create flows for the real world.

Here's where I can help. I'll teach you how to use data from your custom tables and pages, and call bound actions to run code in Business Central from your Power Automate flow.

And best of all, it's not really that hard once you learn how it's done. No fluff, no kool-aid, just real talk and real examples.

SOLID principles are key to developing high-quality software, and they're just as relevant in the AL world as anywhere else. In this workshop, you'll see firsthand how applying these principles to Business Central development leads to more maintainable, flexible, better-structured code that stands the test of time and adapts easily to new requirements.

The workshop will focus on each of the five SOLID principles: it explains what they mean in theory, and shows how to apply it with a lot of practical, easy-to-follow examples in AL. The workshop follows a case study example, designed for a comprehensive hands-on experience, where you'll transform an existing AL solution written in traditional way into one that applies SOLID principles throughout. This isn't just about making minor adjustments; it's about reshaping the code entirely to make it more robust, easier to read and maintain, and efficient to test.

Let's face it, testing AL code isn't exactly the highlight of anyone's day. It's often seen as a chore – time-consuming to write and even more so to run. But what if it didn't have to be that way?

This deep dive session is going to change your perspective on unit tests. Forget the tedious integration tests; we're talking about the real champions – simple, fast, and accurate unit tests. They're your first line of defense against those pesky bugs and regressions. You'll see why they're so crucial and how they can actually make your life easier.

But the real game-changer? Test doubles. These are the secret sauce to making testing in AL a walk in the park. This session demystifies them for you – what they are, the different types there are, and the right time to use each one for maximum efficiency.

You'll see how to tackle dependencies, and how to interact with the base and system apps in a clean, testable way. Historically BC code was never written with testability in mind. When coding tests against this code, it leaves us with ample option than setting up a lot of data before the action under test can be exercised.

Ideally you probably would like to refactor your code to comply with SOLID principles and make your automated test effort overall much simpler. But often our vast code heritage and new projects ahead do not allow us to get that prioritized and leaves us with non-SOLID code to write test automation against.

In this workshop you will learn about, and apply, various ways to efficiently set up data when creating automated tests for code that does not comply with SOLID principles.

During this workshop, we'll dive deeper in Telemetry and Performance. In short, I'll introduce you in both:

Telemetry in Business Central (setup, KQL, ..)

BCPT (Business Central Performance Toolkit) (including writing our own performance tests)

But this is not just going to be an introduction - don't worry. We'll put both to use by combining them: we'll use our own codeunits to test performance for certain functionalities - analyze it with our own KQL queries, get insights in PowerBI and follow up the performance of our software over time with PowerBI Metrics.
